Verimots checks a word against the list you selected, not “the” official federation lexicon. The active list and version appear under the title, on the verdict (playable / not in the list) and in the word count. Tap that name in the app to switch lists: Settings.
Français · Español · Català · Open Verimots
FR · ODS9
Community list following ODS (the usual French letter-game reference), edition ODS9. About 407,000 forms of 2 to 15 letters, no accents. Not the Larousse book. Verimots is not affiliated with FFJ, FISF or Mattel.
EN · CSW · YAWL
Closest public list following Collins Scrabble Words (CSW), the international English lexicon. About 257,000 forms. The redistributable source is YAWL (Yet Another Word List, public domain).
This is not official CSW (HarperCollins copyright). Recent CSW words may be missing (GLAMP is not in YAWL) and YAWL includes forms that are not in CSW. For a Collins tournament this is an approximation, not an adjudicator.
EN · WGPO WOW24
Community list following WGPO Official Words 2024 (Word Game Players Organization), in force since 31 March 2024. About 195,000 forms. This is the WGPO club lexicon in the United States, distinct from CSW and from NASPA NWL.
Source: the alphabetical file published by WGPO. Verimots is not affiliated with WGPO, NASPA, Mattel or Hasbro. New English sessions default to WOW24.
CA · DISC 2.18.25
DISC (Diccionari Informatitzat de l’Scrabble en Català) by Joan Montané, version 2.18.25, dual-licensed GPLv3 / CC BY-SA 3.0. About 584,000 forms of 2 to 15 tiles, uppercase and unaccented. Unlike the other languages, this list is a player-maintained Scrabble dictionary, redistributed exactly as published — Verimots adds nothing and removes nothing. Thanks to Club de Scrabble de la UAB for the pointer.
Tiles. Catalan Scrabble has 100 tiles and three
multi-character tiles: NY, QU and
L·L (ela geminada). Verimots counts each as one tile
everywhere (length, points, 7-tile bingo). Ç has its own
tile. There is no K, W or
Y tile: Y only ever appears inside NY, and the Q tile is
always played as QU, the convention Catalan clubs and DISC follow. So
LL is two L tiles (CAVALL) and L·L is one
(COL·LEGI); on the rack, the L·L key types it when your
keyboard has no interpunct.

ES · RLA-ES 2.9
Community list following RLA-ES 2.9 (Mozilla Public License 1.1).
About 608,000 forms, Ñ kept, stress marks removed.
Spanish Scrabble has digraph tiles: CH, LL and RR are
single tiles and Verimots counts them that way (length, points, 7-tile bingo). Two official tile sets
are available in Settings: international (FISE), 100 tiles, no K or W (a blank may not
stand for them, so those words are listed but unplayable), and the North-American
edition, 103 tiles, with K and W but no CH tile. In a rack, LL is the digraph and
L·L (or L L) two L tiles. The online leaderboard always uses the international set.
Not the official FILE / FISE dictionary.

- The DIEC2 of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans and the GDLC: copyrighted works, not reproduced.
Verimots lists are built independently from free sources and community contributions; they may differ from official lexicons in both directions. Verimots claims no official compliance and is not a tournament adjudicator. Definitions come from Wiktionary (CC BY-SA 4.0) and, for English, WordNet.
SCRABBLE is a trademark of Mattel (outside the USA and Canada) and Hasbro (USA and Canada). Verimots is not affiliated with any of these companies or with any federation. See the roadmap: free sources first, licences later.
